swaybe:

I have a vegan-related question.

I just found an old fossil purse that I bought a few months before I went vegan. I really love it but it’s leather so like…is it okay for me to use it? I feel hypocritical but like…it’s better than putting it to waste, right?

I own and use several leather and wool products that I bought before I went vegan, and I plan to wear them out. Like you said, no sense wasting it! Also, most of my leather was used when I bought it anyway, which I feel even better about.

Another option, if you feel weird about carrying around a hunk of cow flesh, is to sell or give it to someone who can appreciate it (and thereby also prevent them from buying a new one).
